Baotou-Yinchuan High Speed Railway 包银高铁

The Baotou-Yinchuan high-speed railway is part of the “eight vertical and eight horizontal” high-speed railway network planned by the national government. It is a segment of the Beijing-Lanzhou major corridor and serves as a major artery for transportation and economic exchange between the Northwest region and the Northeast and North China regions. The main line of the Baotou-Yinchuan high-speed railway project stretches 519 kilometers, with an estimated total investment of 65.9 billion yuan. Approximately 402 kilometers of the line runs through Inner Mongolia, with the technical standard being a double-track line designed for 250 km/h.

The newly built Baotou to Yinchuan high-speed railway starts from Baotou and extends to HuiNong in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, passing through the cities of Bayannur, Ordos, and Wuhai in Inner Mongolia, and reaching HuiNong South Station in Shizuishan City, Ningxia. The new line is 419.3 kilometers long and includes nine stations. To further advance the development strategy for Western China, accelerate the construction of the Beijing-Lanzhou high-speed rail corridor, strengthen the connections between the Hohhot-Baotou-Erdos urban cluster and the Ningxia urban cluster along the Yellow River, and promote the economic and social development along the line, it was agreed to construct the new section of the Baotou to Yinchuan high-speed railway from Baotou to HuiNong, as well as a branch line from Yinchuan to Bayanhot.

包银高铁是国家规划的“八纵八横”高速铁路网中京兰大通道的一部分，是西北地区连接东北、华北地区的交通大动脉和经济大通道。包银高铁项目正线全长519公里，估算总投资659亿元，其中内蒙古线路长约402公里，技术标准为双线250km/h。 包银高铁新建包头至银川高铁包头至惠农段自包头站引出，经内蒙古自治区巴彦淖尔、鄂尔多斯、乌海市，至宁夏回族自治区石嘴山市惠农南站。新建线路419.3公里，设站9座 。为深入推进西部大开发战略，加快构建京兰高铁通道，加强呼包鄂城市群和宁夏沿黄城市群联系，促进沿线经济社会发展，同意新建包头至银川高铁包头至惠农段和银川至巴彦浩特支线 。
