Nanchang-Fuzhou Railway

The Nanchang-Fuzhou Railway, also known as the Changfu Line, is an inter-provincial railway between Jiangxi Province and Fujian Province in China. It is the first national Class I main railway line in Fujian Province that connects the central and inland areas. During the planning and construction phase, the project was named the Xiangpu Railway. In January 2013, the section from Nanchang West Station to Fuzhou Station was officially named the Changfu Railway. Construction of the entire line of the Xiangpu Railway (the predecessor of the Changfu Railway) began on November 24, 2007; on November 29, 2012, track-laying was completed. The Changfu Railway officially commenced operations on September 26, 2013.

The Changfu Railway has a total of 11 passenger stations, from west to east: Nanchang West Station, Fuzhou Station, Nancheng Station, Nanfeng Station, Jianning County North Station, Taining Station, Jiangle Station, Sanming North Station, Youxi Station, Yongtai Station, and Fuzhou Station. There are 7 freight-only stations: Sanjiang Town Station, Dagang Station, Fuzhou North Station, Tengqiao Station, Xiamao Station, Zhongxian Station, Changqing Station, and Duwu Station, with 1 reserved station: Xicheng Station. The operation of the Changfu Railway not only promotes the development of the tourism industry in Jiangxi and Fujian provinces but also significantly reduces the spatial and temporal distance between the two provinces, shortening the journey from Nanchang to Fuzhou from the original 11 hours to 3.5 hours. This railway has also made inter-provincial travel between Fujian and Jiangxi a convenient option for nearby tourism. Jiangxi, Fujian, Hunan, and Hubei provinces form a “3-hour to 5-hour high-speed rail tourism circle”. Jiangxi and Fujian provinces will each form a provincial “integrated” living circle centered on their capital cities, Nanchang and Fuzhou, respectively, with main cities within the province being 1 to 2 hours away, achieving a one-day round trip across thousands of miles between Gan (Jiangxi) and Min (Fujian).
