Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway 大秦铁路

Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway, referred to as the Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway, is a national railway Class I freight dedicated railway in North China connecting Datong City, Shanxi Province and Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province. It is also the first double-track electrified heavy-haul railway in China and the first A main line railway for coal transportation. The Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway runs from Datong City in Shanxi Province to Qinhuangdao City in Hebei Province, running through Shanxi, Hebei, Beijing, and Tianjin, with a total length of 653 kilometers. It is one of the main corridors for the transportation of coal from the west to the east in China. Daqin Railway is China’s first new double-track electrified heavy-haul coal transportation line.
The Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway starts from Datong in the west and ends at Qinhuangdao in the east, passing through the four provinces and cities of Shanxi, Hebei, Beijing and Tianjin, crossing the Yanbei Plateau and the Sangqian River Valley, and runs east-west close to the southern foot of the Yanshan Mountains; the first phase of the line starts from Datong City, Shanxi Province To Dashizhuang, Sanhe County, Hebei Province, the main line has a total length of 410.8 kilometers, connects to the Beijing-Qinjiang Railway with a connecting line, and branches off to the Daqin Railway at Wuzhuang. The second phase of the project is an extension of the first phase, with a total length of 242.2 kilometers. Starting from Dashizhuang Station in the west, passing through Sanhe, Jixian, Yutian, Zunhua, Qianxi, Qian’an, Lulong, Funing and other counties and cities in Hebei Province and Tianjin City, it arrived at Qinhuangdao Phase III Coal Terminal, and coal trains no longer Detour the Beijing-Qinhuangdao Railway and go directly to Qinhuangdao via the Daqin Main Line. The completion of the Daqin Railway will be of decisive significance for the development of coal in Shanxi, increasing the amount of coal transferred from Inner Mongolia and Ningxia, and increasing the supply and export of coal in Northeast, East China, South China and other regions.

大秦铁路(Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway),简称大秦线,是中国华北地区一条连接山西省大同市与河北省秦皇岛市的国铁I级货运专线铁路,也是中国境内首条双线电气化重载铁路 、首条煤运通道干线铁路。大秦铁路自山西省大同市至河北省秦皇岛市,纵贯山西、河北、北京、天津,全长653千米,是中国西煤东运的主要通道之一。大秦铁路是中国新第一条双线电气化重载运煤专线。
大秦铁路西起大同、东至秦皇岛,途经山西、河北、北京和天津四省市,穿越雁北高原、桑干河谷,紧依燕山山脉南麓呈东西走向; 线路一期工程由山西省大同市至河北省三河县大石庄,正线全长410.8千米,以联络线接入京秦铁路,在吴庄出岔接大秦铁路;二期工程是一期工程的延伸,全长242.2千米,西起大石庄站,途经河北省、天津市的三河、蓟县、玉田、遵化、迁西、迁安、卢龙、抚宁等县市后,抵达秦皇岛三期煤码头,运煤列车不再绕道京秦铁路,直接经大秦本线至秦皇岛。大秦铁路的建成,对开发山西煤炭,增加内蒙古、宁夏的煤炭调出量,增加东北、华东、华南等地区煤炭的供应和出口有决定意义
