The Guangzhou-Zhuhai Railway, referred to as the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Line, is a suburban railway connecting Guangzhou and Zhuhai in Guangdong Province, China. It is a branch railway of the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway in South China and a dedicated freight line railway serving ports. The Guangzhou-Zhuhai Railway starts from Jiangcun Station in the north and ends at Gaolangang Station in the south. The total line length is 189.376 kilometers, with a total of 10 stations and a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour. The Guangzhou-Zhuhai Railway started construction in 1997, resumed construction after a pause, and was completed and operational on December 29, 2012.
The Guangzhou-Zhuhai Railway runs roughly in a north-south direction. The main line starts from the Jiangcun (marshalling) station of the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway in the north and runs parallel to the Foshan First Ring Road and the Second Pearl Ring Road to Xijiang. The section from Xijiang to Hutiaomen runs along the Jiangzhao Expressway to Jiangmen, passing through Sanjiang and Gujing. Town to Hutiaomen, cross the Hutiaomen Waterway and enter Doumen District of Zhuhai City, then go south along Zhugang Avenue to Gaolan Port Station. The Guangzhou-Zhuhai Railway is connected to the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity Railway and the Shenzhen-Maoming Railway (Jiang-Zhan Railway Section) at Jiangmen Station. After the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Railway is put into operation, it will assume the function of the western passage of the Guangzhou Railway Hub, change the situation of no freight railway on the west bank of the Pearl River Estuary, and enable the western wing of the Pearl River Delta to fully utilize the vast hinterland of the inland and the geographical advantages of Hong Kong and Macao. With the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Railway as a link, we will strengthen all-round cooperation with Macao and achieve common development and prosperity between Guangdong and Macao.
广珠铁路,简称广珠线,是中国广东省境内一条连接广州市与珠海市的市郊铁路,是京广铁路在华南地区内的支线铁路,也是服务港口的货运专用线铁路。广珠铁路北起江村站、南至高栏港站,线路总长189.376千米,共有10座车站,设计速度120千米/小时。广珠铁路于1997年动工建设,中途经停工后复工,于2012年12月29日竣工运营。
广珠铁路大致呈南北走向,主线北起京广铁路江村(编组)站,并行佛山一环、珠二环公路至西江,西江至虎跳门段线路沿江肇高速公路至江门,途经三江、古井镇至虎跳门、跨越虎跳门水道进入珠海市斗门区,沿珠港大道南行至高栏港站。广珠铁路在江门站与广珠城际铁路、深茂铁路(江湛铁路段)接轨互通。广珠铁路投入运行后,将承担广州铁路枢纽西部通道的功能,改变珠江口西岸无货运铁路的状况,使珠江三角洲西翼地区更加充分发挥背靠内陆广大腹地,面对港澳的地缘优势,以广珠铁路为纽带,加强与澳门的全方位合作,实现粤澳两地共同发展、共同繁荣。
