The Heruo Railway has a total length of 825.476 kilometers. The design standard is National Railway Level I, with a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour. There are 65 stations along the entire line. It is the east extension project of Kahe Railway, starting from Hotan Station of Kahe Railway, passing through 7 cities (counties) including Hotan, Luopu County, Cele County, Yutian County, Minfeng County, Qiemo County and Ruoqiang County, and ending in Access to Ruochang Station of Coorg Railway. On December 20, 2018, the Heruo Railway officially started construction.
The Heruo Railway is an important railway trunk line in the country’s “Medium and Long-term Railway Network Plan”. It is an important regional road network trunk line in western my country. It is an important part of the main skeleton of Xinjiang’s “four vertical and four horizontal” railways and an important part of the Xinjiang-Southern Xinjiang Railway. An important part of the ring line is an important part of the convenient passage from southern Xinjiang to the mainland. The Hotan-Ruoqiang section of the railway will form a circular railway line in the Tarim Basin in southern Xinjiang. People from Hotan can go directly to inland cities through Ruoqiang and Qinghai when leaving Xinjiang, without having to detour to Turpan. The journey out of Xinjiang will be shortened by more than 1,000 kilometers.
和若铁路全长825.476公里,设计标准为国铁Ⅰ级,设计时速120公里,全线共设车站65处。为喀和铁路的东延工程,起自喀和铁路和田站,途经和田、洛浦县、策勒县、于田县、民丰县、且末县、若羌县7个市(县),终点接入库格铁路的若羌站。2018年12月20日,和若铁路正式开工建设。
和若铁路是国家《中长期铁路网规划》中的重要铁路干线,是我国西部地区重要的区域路网干线,是新疆“四纵四横”铁路主骨架的重要组成部分,是新疆南疆铁路环线的重要组成部分,是南疆通往内地便捷通道的重要组成部分。和田—若羌段铁路将在南疆塔里木盆地形成一条环形铁路线,和田群众出疆可通过若羌经青海直通内地城市,不必再绕道吐鲁番,出疆路程将缩短1千多公里
