Anqing-Jiujiang Railway 安九铁路

The Anqing-Jiujiang railway, also known as the Anqing-Jiujiang passenger dedicated line, is located across the three provinces of Jiangxi, Hubei, and Anhui. The line starts from the new Anqing West Station in the north and extends to Lushan Station in the south, with the main line covering a total length of 169 kilometers. There are a total of 8 stations along the route. The total investment in the project amounts to 33.63 billion yuan, and the construction period is expected to be 5 years. The main technical standards for the project are for a high-speed railway with double-track lines, designed for a traveling speed of 350 kilometers per hour.

The Anqing-Jiujiang passenger dedicated line connects to the Hefei-Anqing, Hefei-Bengbu, and Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railways in the north, and to the Wuhan-Jiujiang, Nanchang-Jiujiang, Changjiu, and Ganzhou-Shenzhen high-speed railways in the south. It forms an important part of the high-speed railway corridors running from Beijing to Hefei to Anqing to Nanchang to Shenzhen in the north-south direction and from Shanghai to Nanjing to Anqing to Jiujiang to Wuhan along the river in the east-west direction. It is a key project in completing China’s “eight vertical and eight horizontal” high-speed railway network. The Anqing-Jiujiang high-speed railway is a part of the Hefei-Anqing-Jiujiang high-speed railway, connecting the north to the Hefei-Anqing and Hefei-Bengbu, as well as the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railways, and linking the south to the Wuhan-Jiujiang, Nanchang-Jiujiang, Changjiu, and Ganzhou-Shenzhen high-speed railways. It serves as a rapid passenger transport channel running north-south from Beijing to Hefei to Anqing to Nanchang to Shenzhen and an east-west rapid passenger transport channel along the river from Shanghai to Nanjing to Wuhu to Anqing to Jiujiang to Wuhan.
