Nanjing-Qidong Railway 宁启铁路

The Nanjing-Qidong Railway is a mixed passenger and freight railway line in Jiangsu Province, China, connecting Nanjing City with Qidong City. It serves as an extension of the Ningxi Railway (from Nanjing to Xi’an) and is a part of one of the “Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal” main railway corridors in China. It is also a vital component of China’s national express network and the intercity railway network of the Yangtze River Delta region. The Nantong to Qidong section of the railway, located within the territory of Nantong City in Jiangsu Province, connects to the existing Nantong Station in the west and passes through Chongchuan District, Tongzhou District, Haimen City, and Qidong City, with a main line length of 107.284 kilometers.

The electrified double-track section of the Nanjing-Qidong Railway has a total of 16 stations along its route, which are Linchang Station, Pukou North Station, Yin Zhuang Station, Liuhe Station, Yizheng Station, Yangzhou Station, Yangzhou East Station, Jiangdu Station, Taizhou West Station, Taizhou Station, Jiangyan Station, Nanmo Station, Hai’an Station, Rugao Station, Baipu Station, and Nantong Station. Once the Nanjing-Qidong Railway is connected to the Xinchang Railway at Hai’an Station, it will enhance the radiation range of the Xinchang Railway, improve the network functions of the Xinchang Railway, and the land-sea corridor from the Northeast to the Yangtze River Delta region. With the western connection to the proposed Ningxi Railway, the Nanjing-Qidong Railway will become another major east-west artery communicating between the Northwest and East China regions, playing a positive role in strengthening the communication and connection between the eastern and western regions, and in the implementation of the central government’s strategy for developing the Greater Northwest.

宁启铁路

宁启铁路（Nanjing-Qidong Railway），是中国江苏省境内一条连接南京市与启东市的客货共线铁路，为宁西铁路（南京至西安）的延伸，是中国“八纵八横”铁路主通道之一的组成部分，是中国国家快速路网和长三角地区城际轨道网的重要组成部分。宁启铁路南通~启东段工程位于江苏省南通市境内，西接既有南通站，途径崇川区、通州区、海门市和启东市，正线全长107.284千米。 宁启铁路复线电气化路段沿线共设16座车站，分别是林场站、浦口北站、殷庄站、六合站、仪征站、扬州站、扬州东站、江都站、泰州西站、泰州站、姜堰站、南莫站、海安站、如皋站、白蒲站、南通站。宁启铁路在海安站与新长铁路连接后，可增强新长铁路的辐射范围，完善新长铁路及东北至长江三角洲地区陆海大通道的路网功能。宁启铁路西接拟建中的宁西铁路，将成为沟通西北地区与华东地区的又一条东西干线，对于加强东西部地区的沟通与联系，实施中央关于开发大西北的战略，将发挥积极的作用。
