Baotou-Haikou high Speed Railway 包海高速铁路

The Baotou-Haikou high-speed railway, also known as the Baotou-Haikou Passenger Dedicated Line, is part of the “eight vertical and eight horizontal” high-speed railway main corridors identified in the national “Mid-to-Long Term Railway Network Plan”. This high-speed rail corridor connects Baotou in Inner Mongolia to Haikou in Hainan Province. Starting from Baotou in the north, the line extends southward through cities such as Ordos, Yulin, Yan’an, Tongchuan, Xi’an, Ankang, Dazhou, Chongqing, Guiyang, Hechi, Nanning, Qinzhou, Zhanjiang, and finally reaches Haikou City in Hainan Province.

The Baotou-Haikou High-Speed Railway is a major north-south high-speed rail artery that traverses the central and western regions of China. Beginning in Baotou, Inner Mongolia, it passes through Ordos and then heads south into Shaanxi Province, traveling through Yulin, Yan’an, and Tongchuan, before entering the Xi’an railway hub. After leaving Xi’an, the railway crosses the Qinling Mountains, continues through Ankang into Chongqing, and heads south to Guiyang (where it connects with the Shanghai-Kunming High-Speed Railway at Guiyang North Station). From Guiyang North, it follows the Guizhou-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway, reaching Zhanjiang in Guangdong, crossing the Qiongzhou Strait, and leads into Haikou in Hainan.

The Xi’an to Yan’an to Yulin high-speed railway western extension segment is the first high-speed rail project mobilized for construction as part of Shaanxi Province’s “13th Five-Year Plan” for railway development. It is a segment of both the national Baotou-Haikou high-speed rail corridor and Shaanxi Province’s “mi”-shaped high-speed railway network. The segment is approximately 290.7 kilometers long, with a total of 12 stations planned. The total budgeted investment is nearly 60 billion yuan, with a planned construction period of four and a half years.

包海高速铁路又名包海客运专线，是国家《中长期铁路网规划》中”八纵八横”高速铁路主通道包头至海口通道包头至海口的高速铁路。北起内蒙古包头，向南经鄂尔多斯、榆林、延安、铜川、西安市、安康、达州、重庆、贵阳、河池、南宁、钦州、湛江等，终点为海南省海口市。 包海高铁是贯穿中西部地区结合部的南北高铁大动脉,北起内蒙古包头，经鄂尔多斯，向南进入陕西，经榆林、延安、铜川，引入西安枢纽，出站后穿越秦岭，经安康进入重庆，南下贵阳(与沪昆高铁贵阳北站并站)，从贵阳北经贵南高铁，进入广东湛江，跨琼州海峡，引入海南海口。包海线西安至延安至榆林高铁西延段项目是陕西省“十三五”铁路发展规划中第一个动员建设的高铁项目，是国家包海高铁大通道和陕西省“米”字型高铁网的组成部分，全长约290.7公里，全线共设置12个车站，预算总投资近600亿元，计划实施工期4年半。
