The Chengdu-Zigong-Yibin High-Speed Railway (Cheng-Zi-Yi HSR) is a significant part of the national “Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal” high-speed railway network, representing another high-speed corridor heading south from Sichuan Province with a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The initial construction phase of the Zigong section spans 81.98 kilometers.
The Chengdu-Zigong section of the high-speed railway begins at Chengdu East Station and ends at Zigong East Station, which connects to the Southern Sichuan Intercity Railway. The total length of the main line under construction is 176.9 kilometers, with a bridge and tunnel ratio reaching 75.2%, and the construction period is planned for 4 years. The project is scheduled to be fully completed and operational by 2023, forming a major high-speed rail corridor that will offer direct access to Southeast Asia from Sichuan.
The Cheng-Zi-Yi HSR includes seven stations: the existing Chengdu East Station, Chengdu Tianfu Station, Tianfu Airport Station, Ziyang West Station, Zizhong West Station, Weiyuan Station, and the under-construction Zigong East Station. This intercity railway will connect the provincial capital of Chengdu with the southern Sichuan cities of Zigong and Yibin, as well as directly linking Tianfu New Area with the port of Yibin. It will further strengthen the connection between the southern Sichuan region and Chengdu, facilitate the movement of people along the route, and promote rapid economic development in the southern Sichuan region and the Tianfu New Area.
成自宜高铁是国家八纵八横高铁网的重要组成部分，是四川省又一条时速350公里的南向高铁大通道。首期建设的自宜段全长81.98公里。成自高铁是由中铁二院设计的成自高铁正线北起成都东站，终点接川南城际铁路自贡东站，正线建筑长度176.9公里，桥隧比达75.2%，建设工期4年。项目计划于2023年全面建成通车，形成一条直通东南亚的高铁出川大通道。 成自宜高铁全线设成都东站（既有）、成都天府站、天府机场站、资阳西站、资中西站、威远站、自贡东站（在建）等7个车站。成自宜城际铁路将省会成都与川南大城市自贡、宜宾联系在一起，也直接将天府新区与宜宾港连在一起，将进一步加强川南地区与成都的联系，进一步密切沿线群众的往来，促进川南地区、天府新区经济的快速发展。
