Chongqing-Qianjiang High Speed Railway 渝黔高速铁路

The Chongqing-Qianjiang High-speed Railway, also known as the Chongqing to Qianjiang section of the Chongqing-Hunan High-speed Railway, is a high-speed rail line connecting the Yuzhong District of Chongqing City to the Qianjiang District in Chongqing. It is a part of the “Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal” high-speed railway main corridors specified in the “Medium and Long-term Railway Network Plan” (2016 edition), forming the “Xiamen-Chongqing Corridor” together with the Longyan-Xiamen Railway, Ganzhou-Longyan Railway, Changde-Yiyang-Changsha High-speed Railway, and Qianjiang-Changde Railway. This high-speed railway extends from Chongqing Station to Qianjiang Station, spanning a total length of 265 kilometers, with 8 stations planned along the route, and is designed for maximum speeds of 350 kilometers per hour.

The Chongqing-Qianjiang High-speed Railway starts at the Chongqing Railway Station in Caiyuanba, Yuzhong District, and passes through the Nan’an District, Banan District, Nanchuan District, Wulong District, Pengshui County, and ends in the Qianjiang District, with a total length of 265 kilometers. The railway is designed for speeds of up to 350 kilometers per hour, and approximately 94% of the route consists of bridges and tunnels. This railway is an integral part of the “Xiamen-Chongqing” passenger transport corridor in the “Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal” high-speed railway channels of China’s “Medium and Long-term Railway Network Plan”. It serves as critical infrastructure linking the Maritime Silk Road with the Yangtze River Economic Belt and is the main high-speed passenger transport corridor between the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration and the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan urban agglomeration, as well as the Haixi Economic Zone. Moreover, as an essential part of Chongqing’s “rice”-shaped high-speed rail network, the completion of the Chongqing to Qianjiang section of the Chongqing-Hunan High-speed Railway is of significant importance for improving Chongqing’s high-speed rail network and also fills the gap in high-speed rail connectivity in the southeastern part of Chongqing.

渝黔高速铁路(Chongqing-Qianjiang High-speed Railway),即重庆至黔江高速铁路、渝湘高速铁路重庆至黔江段,是一条连接重庆市渝中区与重庆市黔江区的高速铁路,是《中长期铁路网规划》(2016年版)中“八纵八横”高速铁路主通道之一“厦渝通道”的重要组成部分,与龙厦铁路、赣龙铁路、常益长高速铁路、黔常铁路共同构成“厦渝通道”。渝黔高速铁路由重庆站至黔江站,全长265千米,设8个车站,设计的最高速度为350千米/小时。 渝黔高速铁路起于渝中区菜园坝重庆火车站,经渝中区、南岸区、巴南区、南川区、武隆区、彭水县后,止于黔江区,全长265公里,设计时速350公里,全线桥隧比例约94%。渝黔高速铁路是中国《中长期铁路网规划》中“八纵八横”高速铁路通道中厦(门)渝(重庆)客运通道的重要组成部分,是衔接海上丝绸之路与长江经济带的重要基础设施,是成渝城市群与长株潭城市群、海西经济区之间的高速客运交流主通道。同时,作为重庆“米”字型高铁网的重要组成部分,渝湘高铁重庆至黔江段建成,对完善重庆高速铁路网具有重要意义,也填补了重庆渝东南片区不通高铁的空白。
