Nanchang to Ganzhou High-Speed Railway, commonly referred to as the Chang-Gan Passenger Dedicated Line, formerly known as the Chang-Ji-Gan Intercity Railway, starts from Nanchang in the north and extends to Ganzhou in the south, with a total length of 415.743 kilometers and a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The line includes stations such as Nanchang, Henggang, Fengcheng, Zhangshu East, Xingan East, Xiajiang, Jishui West, Ji’an West, Taihe, Wan’an, Xingguo West, Gannan, and Ganzhou West.
The Chang-Gan Railway Passenger Dedicated Line is a pioneering project for the revitalization and development of the old revolutionary base areas in southern Jiangxi. To the north, it connects to the Chang-Jiu Intercity Railway, and to the south, it will extend to Shenzhen, intersecting with the Shanghai-Kunming Passenger Dedicated Line. In Nanchang, it forms the “T”-shaped main backbone of the high-speed railway network in Jiangxi Province, hence it was named the top project of Jiangxi’s railway construction during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period. On September 2, 2013, the National Development and Reform Commission officially approved the “New Nanchang to Ganzhou Railway Project Proposal.” On December 12, 2013, the Chang-Ji-Gan Passenger Dedicated Line conducted its first public display for the environmental impact assessment. Construction began at the end of 2014.
