Wan-Gan Railway 皖赣铁路

The Wan-Gan Railway, extending from Wuhu City in Anhui Province to Guixi City in Jiangxi Province, spans approximately 550 kilometers. It connects to the Ning-Tong Railway and Huainan Railway in the north and the Zhe-Gan Railway and Ying-Xia Railway in the south. Serving as a railway trunk line that links the provinces of Anhui and Jiangxi, the Wan-Gan Railway also intersects with the Xuan-Hang Railway and the Qu-Jiu Railway. It is an essential part of the East China transportation network, sometimes referred to as the “Second East China Corridor,” and is approximately 580 kilometers long.

The old Wan-Gan line mainly supports regional freight transport while also handling some regional passenger services. The completion and opening of the new Wan-Gan line will facilitate economic and cultural exchanges between cities and promote regional economic development, acting as a major railway artery between Anhui and Jiangxi provinces.

The newly constructed double-track Wan-Gan Railway project is located within the territories of Anhui and Jiangxi provinces. It starts from Yijiang Station in the Wuhu hub, heading south through various cities and counties such as Wanzhi, Xuancheng, Ningguo, Jixi, Shexian, Huangshan, Xiuning, Yi County, and Qimen before entering Jiangxi Province. The designed speed is for the Wuhu-Wanzhi-Xuancheng section, which shares the line with the Shang-Hang passenger dedicated line from Wuhu to Wanzhi to Xuancheng. The section from Xuancheng to Jixi to Huangshan features ballasted track. According to the latest information, the section south of Jixi no longer shares the line with the Huangshan to Hangzhou Intercity Railway. The newly built double-track Wan-Gan Railway has a total length of 483 kilometers, with 305 kilometers located within Anhui Province.

皖赣铁路，自安徽省芜湖市至江西省贵溪市，全长约550千米，北连宁铜铁路和淮南铁路，南接浙赣铁路和鹰厦铁路。皖赣铁路北连宁铜铁路和淮南铁路，南连沪昆铁路和鹰厦铁路，中间与宣杭铁路、衢九铁路接驳，是沟通安徽、江西两省的铁路干线，全长约580公里，被称为华东第二通道。 皖赣老线将主要进行区域间货运运输，同时兼顾部分区域客运。皖赣新线建成开通，有利于各城市间的经济文化交流，有利于促进地区的经济发展。是沟通安徽、江西两省的主要铁路干线。新建皖赣铁路双线项目位于安徽、江西两省境内，北起芜湖枢纽弋江站，南经湾沚、宣城、宁国、绩溪、歙县、黄山、休宁、黟县、祁门等市县，随后进入江西省境内。设计时速为芜湖-湾沚-宣城段，并与商杭客运专线芜湖-湾沚-宣城段共线。宣城-绩溪-黄山段，线路为有砟轨道。最新消息，绩溪以南段不再与与黄山至杭州城际铁路共线。新建皖赣铁路双线线路全长483公里，其中安徽境内305公里。
